Destiny keeps the day-to-day operations of Berg Design + Build running smoothly. As Office Manager, she handles employee administration, accounts payable and receivable, and the many moving pieces involved in keeping a busy construction office organized. She works behind the scenes to support the team, maintain clear communication, and ensure details are handled so each day runs smoothly.
What do you love about working at Berg Design + Build?
What I love most about Berg Design + Build is that it's truly a family business. I get to work alongside my husband every day, building something we've dreamed about for years. Beyond that, I love creating a workplace where every employee feels valued, appreciated, and like they're part of our family. When people know they matter, they take pride in what they do—and that shows in every project we complete.
How did you get into the construction and general contracting industries?
To be honest, I didn't grow up around construction at all. My mom owned a flower shop for 38 years, and my dad worked in surveillance, so this industry was completely new to me.
When Josiah and I started dating, construction was already second nature to him. He had been working alongside his dad since he was just eight years old. I remember listening to his family talk about staining, lacquering, and various building techniques. At the time, I had no idea what they were talking about—but hoped that one day I would.
Over the years Josiah patiently taught me the business. And today I couldn't imagine doing anything else. Building Berg Design + Build together has been one of the most rewarding journeys of our lives. It's a reminder that with the right teacher, a willingness to learn, and a shared vision, you can build something truly special.
What does integrity mean to you?
Integrity is the foundation of everything we do. After spending 16 years in the industry, we built our own company on the belief that people deserve honesty, transparency, and work done the right way. We treat every project as if we were building it for our own family.
What does longevity mean to you?
Longevity means creating something that will still be valued decades from now. Whether it's a home, a business, or our company itself, we believe in investing in quality today so it lasts for tomorrow. Our goal is to build spaces and relationships that endure for generations.
What do you want customers to know about Berg Design + Build?
Berg Design + Build was built on a dream that was years in the making, and we pour that same passion into every project we take on. We want our customers to know they'll never be just another job to us. We value honesty, quality, and doing things the right way—even when it takes a little more time.
